Subject: SPECIAL GENERAL BODY MEETING for FINANCIAL APPROVAL to Replace existing Diesel Genset (125 KVA) with PNG GENSET (125 KVA) to Comply with GOVT. DIRECTIVE

Dear Members,

Reference is hereby made to the previous information shared on the official WhatsApp group on 29.09.23 and subsequently on 09.10.23 wherein we have informed you that the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), Govt of NCT Of Delhi, had issued a Directive against usage of DG Sets in NCR.

Various Federations had filed appeals requesting that the use of DG sets may be permitted for housing societies as a special case or at least an extension may be given for implementation. However, the request for exemption was denied and on 29.09.23 the CAQM has issued Direction No. 76 whereby it has mandated that replacement of DG sets must be implemented latest by 31.12.23. The previous deadline given was 01.10.23 but a one-time exception has been granted in the said directive which permits DG Sets for all capacity ranges to be run only for emergency services in the NCR, only up to 31.12.2023.

Bearing the deadline in mind, the MC has already applied to IGL for provision of a gas connection to run the proposed PNG genset, as this process takes some time. Amount of Rs. 2,15,706 has already been deposited to IGL for the same. At the same time, needful has also been done to obtain quotes from the leading Brands of PNG gensets and a comparative analysis of the same is given below for ready reference.

It is therefore decided to convene a Special General Body Meeting (SGBM) of the society as per details given below, for financial approval to procure the PNG genset in order to be compliant with the directive within the given timeframe.

Please be advised that the SGBM is specifically being convened for the above-mentioned agenda of Genset replacement only and no other business will be discussed or transacted during the said meeting.
